Bonsai Fertilizer Baskets W/ Placement Spike - Bag of 10
Our fertilizer baskets are perfect for our pellet fertilizers or if you go with the small size even our granular fertilizer. Don't use our fertilizer? You can use these baskets with most fertilizer including our imported Tosho and Tamahi Japanese Fertilizers.
Directions: Fill the basket, Snap the top shut then push the spikes into the bonsai soil towards the edge of the pot.
Example: For a 10" pot, 3 medium fertilizer baskets should be pushed into the soil at three locations around the perimeter of the pot.. After the fertilizer disappears simply pull the baskets, refill and place between where the fertilizer baskets were previously. Repeat as necessary.
These are a deterrent to some animals such as chipmunks and squirrels. Larger animals may be able to bite the baskets open and eat the contents. The baskets make it hard to get to the fertilizer and the spikes help keep most animals from taking the fertilizer with them.

QUESTIONS & ANSWERSAsk a Question
I'm new to Bonsai trees how does the fertilizer banquets works once they are in place? Do you water them so fertilizer is release into the soil? Do you use it every time you water the tree? Please let me know. Marcelo J
Fertilizer is placed into the baskets then pushed into the soil around the tree. They should be spaced 3" - 6" apart. Each time the tree is watered a little fertilizer is released from the basket. They are normally kept on the tree at all times except when the tree is out of the growing season and you are not fertilizing or you are showing the tree.

Plants & Tree Shipping:
We ship bonsai trees and plants from either our parnter nursery or our in house nursery depending on the tree. We may limit when we ship trees to help limit their exposure to extreme environments. For example we may not ship if it will cause the tree to sit in a truck over a weekend or holiday in very low temperatures or very high temps.
If we are shipping from our Harrisburg, PA location, the tree may arrive via any carrier, but usually UPS or USPS. Time in transit will be 1-2 days in the northeast, 2-3 days in the southeast, 3-4 days in the midwest and usually 5 days for the west coast.
Trees are shipped in custom boxes made just for shipping trees. Sometimes we wrap the pot and soil in plastic to prevent it from spilling out in transit. Many times we use packing peanuts as they have proven to be very reliable in keeping trees safe in shipping. If a box is noticiably damaged, please take pictures prior to opening.
Please Note: We do not ship plants and trees to California
