BonsaiMax fertilizer will give your bonsai an immediate boost and then continue feeding over the course of 1-2 months (depending on temperature and the amount the tree is watered).
BonsaiMax fertilizers are designed to "melt away" a little each time you water. This is a super easy and reliable way to steadily fertilize bonsai. No dangerous chemicals to worry about or mix and no little plastic balls left behind in your soil, just organics.
Natural ingredients from the sea are the primary ingredients to formulate the perfect fertilizer for different stages in bonsai development. You also don't need to worrry about damaging the environment with BonsaiMax like you do with chemical fertilizers.

The use of Natural based fertilizer allows your soil to maintain beneficial microorganisms such as beneficial bacteria, actinomycetes, fungi, protozoa and nematodes that help plants thrive. Because BonsaiMax ingredients are organic based, they do not interfere with the soil environment and allow it to flourish. Chemical fertilizers kill off most if not all microorganisms and do not promote a natural environment within the soil.
Natural based fertilizers may grow some mold in the week after application. This is normal and it will subside in a few days. Mold also may be a sign of overwatering, lack of proper air flow and/or highly organic soil that is not normally ideal for most bonsai species.
Use during the growing season for the type of tree you are growing. For example, in the Central-Northeast you would likely use this once per month from about April through August. For tropicals, you would likely fertilizer every month throughout the year. Place fertilizer under moss to minimize moss burn caused by pretty much all fertilizers.
Ideal when used with out BonaiMax Enhance kelp based liquid spray/water/drench.

I’m a beginner in the bonsai world, what’s the difference between the pellets and the granules? You put it on top right? Sorry I’m a noob at this.
The granular is used on organic soil only as the pieces will fall through substrate based soil. The granuar is put on with a provided spoon. The pellets can be used on either types of soil and are usually put on by hand. That is about it.
How does it smell? I have a different brand organic fertilizer and it smells very bad. It's impossible to use on the trees I keep inside.
Organic fertilizer is made from organic components. The fertilizer does not begin to work until it begins to break down which is done by fungus, bacteria and other microscipic organisms. The process of organic material breaking down generally has an unpleasent smell. This is why most if not all organic fertilizer smells bad. That being said, I think ours is amoung some of the best smelling organic fertilizers and it generally only smells bad for a week max. You will need to try it to judge if this is tolorable to you or if chemical will the be way to fertilizer your bonsai.
Can this fertilizer be used simultaneously with other fertilizers or should it be used alone
It can be used alongside of other fertilizers. I do suggest carefully reading other fertilizer warnings to be sure it does not interact with anything in our fertilizer. Our fertilizer is natural based, so does not contain chemicals. We use this in combination with liquid kelp, hb101 and superthrive. We do not use any chemical fertilizer on our trees.
Do I need to worry about the white mold that grows on the pellets?
Mold growing on the fertilizer in the week or two after it was applied is totally natural. The mold should grow only white in color. The fertilizer is organic so it attracts anything that breaks down organic material, including beneficial bacteria and mold. The mold will go away usually within a week as it will break down and digest the part of the fertilizer it was after in the first place. I notice this is more common in our nursery pots with organic dirt type soil and with high side walls. The excessive moisture from the soil and lack of air from the walls of nursery pots seem to give the mold optimal conditions. Mold has a tough time living with good air flow and without water so I don't commonly see it on my show trees and other trees that have been moved to a boon style soil mix (akadama, lava, pumice). Most of our bonsai are moved into our Professional Mix which is a Boon style ALP mix.
This is common with nearly every good quality organic fertilzer.

Free Shipping: All RETAIL orders over $99.00 USD ship free within the continental USA. Free shipping will be the lowest cost option from FedEx.

How do I Check the Status of my Order?

Show Pickup & The Superfly Express
We attend 7-10 shows a year (if not cancelled), mostly on the east coast. Please check our calendar to see if we may be attending a show close to your location, and we can arrange to bring your order for pickup at the show. No minimum.
We started the Superfly Express shortly after the Covid-19 pandemic started. We did this as a way to get products to wholesale customers with no shipping fee. We basically will deliver your order on one of our trips to your area for free if the order is over $1000 and you are close to our route. We will also deliver retail customers orders over $1000 if they don't want to utilizer our free shipping for whatever reason. We currently only travel east of the Mississippi river and have 4 routes.
