Japanese Artists The Japanese have been making premium bonsai pots for a very long time.  Handmade Japanese pots are usually some of the best pots you can get.	European Artists Many European bonsai pots are very high quality.  Some of the artists are well known for specialty pots.  Most European pots are very good quality	Antique Chinese Sought after as the most prized pots both in Japan and the United States.  These pots have survived 100+ years and have proven their quality.

 

Price - Price can vary greatly from one product to another.  Generally speaking plastic is the lowest cost followed by mica.  The production pots can be pretty low cost, but also can be fairly pricey for a quality Japanese bonsai pot.  The handmade bonsai pots are usually the highest price for a pot.  Most smaller pots are lower cost and large pots can be very high priced depending on the artist or material they are made from.

Quality - Ceramic pots generally are the highest quality.  Both handmade ceramic pots and production pots can (if taken care of) last forever.  Mica pots usually have a pretty long life lasting 20 - 30 years or longer if you don't mind the way they look after time.  The plastic bonsai pots can last from 5 - 25 years depending on the conditions the pot is stored in.
