(2nd's) Kiku Professionally Annealed Copper Bonsai Wire - Dirty Wire
This wire did not make the cut for our premium wire specifications. This is almost always because it is ugly or dirty. The 2nd's wire is still professionally annealed to the exact same standards as our premium wire. We think it comes out this way due to some sort of coating they put on the wire at the factory. This wire is 99.8% pure solid strand copper wire and will work perfect for wiring your tree, it will just not be as pretty. After a few months it wont matter anyway because it will be tarnished regardless of the wire used.

Our premium wire description:
Kiku wire is striving to produce the best copper bonsai wire available in America. 99.9% pure solid copper wire is professionally wound to the appropriate size rolls (larger than most) to help eliminate the hardening of the wire as you uncoil it. This is less important in the smaller sizes which is why the smaller sizes have tighter coils. Each coil is wound to a precise weight resulting in consistent rolls.
The wire is then taken to a professional metal hardener that has been heating metal for 40+ years. He also happens to be a bonsai guy so he knows good wire. Here the wire is heated to the appropriate temperature to make the softest copper in the states. The wire is then pulled and carefully cooled through a proprietary process that significantly reduces the scale or black coating you find on some annealed copper wire. This black scale can "spray" off the wire as you use it causing eye injury. We do our best to keep this to a minimum, especially on larger sizes where spraying is much more common. This also makes for a cleaner bonsai experience with less black on your hands after wiring. If you are wiring a pine, you obviously don't care about this as your hands will be destroyed by the end anyway.
Each roll is inspected, re-bundled and tagged with a Kiku label and small wrap of Velcro to keep your wire together after the zip-ties and label are removed.
Cheaper annealed copper wire is readily available, but none that combine the quality, softness, cleanliness and love that we put into this wire. We intentionally made this wire to a higher standard. All would agreed that copper is superior to aluminum, you can use a lesser gauge of copper and achieve the same results of a heaver gauge aluminum, thus off setting cost and when Kiku 2nd's (dirty wire) is available at 20% less, it's a no brainer. No substitute for quality at affordable prices.

I enjoyed my shopping experience and especially liked the shopping cart ease of use and the post checkout system for its format. Plants + Trees Shipping: Shipping may be delayed to prevent the tree from sitting in a warehouse over a weekend or holiday. Most trees ship Monday-Wednesday. We do not ship trees to PO, FPO, or APO boxes. We also do not ship trees out of the continental US or to California.

For calculated shipping rates: All orders (under $99 USD or Wholesale) will be presented with shipping options that are calculated based on the item weight, box size, and distance from our shipping location. We currently only use Fedex.
Free Shipping: All RETAIL orders over $99.00 USD ship free within the continental USA. Free shipping will be the lowest cost option from FedEx.

How do I Check the Status of my Order?
When your order has shipped, you will receive an email notification from us which will include a tracking number you can use to check its status. Please allow 48 hours for the tracking information to become available.

Show Pickup & The Superfly Express
We attend 7-10 shows a year (if not cancelled), mostly on the east coast. Please check our calendar to see if we may be attending a show close to your location, and we can arrange to bring your order for pickup at the show. No minimum.
We started the Superfly Express shortly after the Covid-19 pandemic started. We did this as a way to get products to wholesale customers with no shipping fee. We basically will deliver your order on one of our trips to your area for free if the order is over $1000 and you are close to our route. We will also deliver retail customers orders over $1000 if they don't want to utilizer our free shipping for whatever reason. We currently only travel east of the Mississippi river and have 4 routes.
