This mix is perfect for succulents and cacti of most types. When watered this soil stays wet for just the right amount of time before drying. The components promote air to the root system which makes roots happy. Happy roots = Happy Plants.
Is It Dirt?
No. Most Succulents and Cactus do not like "dirt" and will in most cases die if left in dirt over long periods of time. This is substrate.
What's In It?
The primary components are Pumice, Coco Coir, and Superdite. These components have been found over time to provide the best drainage, water retention, nutrient retention and air circulation possible to promote healthy succulents and cacti.
-USA Pumice- is a volcanic byproduct that is excellent at retaining water and nutrients.
-Coco Coir- is a natural fiber extracted from the outer husk of coconut, coco coir provides more air to the root zone.
-Superdite or Haydite- expanded shale, has the ability absorb excess water then release it slowly back to the roots
- Promotes Excellent Drainage & Water Retention- Specifically formulated for Succulents & Cacti.
- Easy Zip Resealable Bag- Simply tear off the top then reseal the easy to close resealable bag over and over until you are ready to re-order soil..
1.25 quarts = 6 cups
2.5 quarts = 10 cups
6 quarts= 24 cups
12 quarts = 48 cups
This mix is amazing!! The shipping and ordering process was easy. The shipping is a bit expensive to have a bag shipped but it's heavy and that's not Bonsai Superfly's fault.
Issue after issue has plagued my succulents and Bonsai Jack was recommended to me. So far I love it, particularly for the ones outside during monsoon season! Sad I didn’t get a chopstick. I do like the turntable and pinchers, although the sharp side is not sharp at all.
I have searched high and low for succulent soil that does NOT contain Peat Moss in any way. So many succulent soils contain at least a little peat moss which generally is not good for succulents as it can tend to hold water and not dry out quickly. I have ordered several succulent soils online through Amazon, thinking that the 'natural substrate' was either pine bark or coco coir and have been disappointed when the bag arrived and I read the ingredients only to find that the "natural substrate" was actually peat moss!! Needless to say I have wasted a bunch of money on soils that weren't what they claim to be. I tend to want to overwater my succulents and so was looking for a succulent soil with no peat moss and one that drains well and had the right proportions of coco coir and minerals (pumice, etc) And then......I found this stuff! The organic one is exactly what I was looking for as it contains NO PEAT MOSS and has coco coir, pumice and the addition of superdite. It's a great soil and the consistency is nice and when I repotted my succulents in this it held them nicely in place and drained well once I watered them. I was dreading having to buy coco coir, pumice and sand all separately and mix it myself. Now, I don't have to. I highly recommend this soil, especially the organic one that has the coco coir in it. Don't ever stop making this product. I am in love with it!!!

Plants + Trees Shipping: Shipping may be delayed to prevent the tree from sitting in a warehouse over a weekend or holiday. Most trees ship Monday-Wednesday. We do not ship trees to PO, FPO, or APO boxes. We also do not ship trees out of the continental US or to California.
Domestic Shipping Rates and Estimates
For calculated shipping rates: All orders (under $99 USD or Wholesale) will be presented with shipping options that are calculated based on the item weight, box size, and distance from our shipping location. We currently only use Fedex.
Free Shipping: All RETAIL orders over $99.00 USD ship free within the continental USA. Free shipping will be the lowest cost option from FedEx.

How do I Check the Status of my Order?
When your order has shipped, you will receive an email notification from us which will include a tracking number you can use to check its status. Please allow 48 hours for the tracking information to become available.

Refunds, Returns, and Exchanges

Show Pickup & The Superfly Express
We attend 7-10 shows a year (if not cancelled), mostly on the east coast. Please check our calendar to see if we may be attending a show close to your location, and we can arrange to bring your order for pickup at the show. No minimum.
We started the Superfly Express shortly after the Covid-19 pandemic started. We did this as a way to get products to wholesale customers with no shipping fee. We basically will deliver your order on one of our trips to your area for free if the order is over $1000 and you are close to our route. We will also deliver retail customers orders over $1000 if they don't want to utilizer our free shipping for whatever reason. We currently only travel east of the Mississippi river and have 4 routes.
